I was just recently (as in 10 minutes ago) inspired by this video:

I am a huge vlogbrothers fan and a Nerdfighter. Besides that, I decided that I want to write down a few things that I currently love.

1. Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. I just finished reading this book. I was inspired first by seeing the movie trailer, which was quite mysterious. The book was lovely, haunting, and thought-provoking. I can't wait to read it again and see the movie!

2. Mary VanGils artwork / YouTube. I've only seen one of her videos, but I like how she incorporates media, specifically YouTube, with her approach to art. It's a great way to show her work to a variety of audiences.

3. Etsy.com - I spend a ton of time on this website!
4.

This statue. I want to do a painting of it. It's called "The Little Mermaid," and anyone who knows me personally understands my love for that story. This statue has captured my heart.

5. Vanilla Carmel Truffle Tea. Need I say more?

6. This oil paint:

This is the first brand of oil paint that I bought for my 101 Painting class, and it has been wonderful. I would recommend these to beginners, because they are affordable and work well.

7. The Vulgate I received as a graduation gift.

8. For my beading needs, I like Fusionbeads.com. I'm still very much a student in terms of both painting and also jewelry making. However, this site has been wonderful in helping me get my feet off the ground.

So, I just finished up finals yesterday. My last undergrad finals. It's not real, yet. School and work have kept me so busy that I haven't made time to post new artwork, but I'm planning on that changing...mainly after I finish organizing all of my work. It's just been piled up in places all around my room for the time being. I'm really looking forward to the idea of having a small work space in six months time! It may just be a portion of our (my fiance and me) computer room, dining room, or even garage. The garage would be great for painting, because then I can be as messy as I like. I would just need a chair, a small heater or fan, and I can open up the garage door to let the room air out, if need be.

No joke:

"Caught" 2010.

John 8: 2-11

It's been awhile since I posted anything because of school and probably time management issues. I have a couple of more projects in the works, which I will hopefully have ready sometime next week!

Hello!

I just realized that my layout has problems with Internet Explorer (mainly that all the images do not automatically shrink to conform to the actual entry post). This leads to larger images that run into the icon box on the right. For those of you who have been encountering this problem, my sincere apologies. It frustrates me, as well.

Anyway, I just wanted to share a link to an interview I did with Ascribing Artists, which is a local group of Christian artists. You can view that interview here.

This was really exciting for me, and I'm thankful to my friend Christina for choosing me.

More projects / paintings will follow in the next couple of days! I'm finishing up my last month as an undergrad. It's sure to be scary exciting.

"The Woman at the Well" (2010)

Both of these are paintings from the past few months! Both are oil on canvas. I'll share a few more over the next few days.
